ATTO Technology offers 10GBASE-T connectivity with latest FastFrame™ Network Interface Cards

ATTO Technology, Inc., has announced the availability of their FastFrameTM 10GBASE-T Network Interface Cards (NICs). Built upon Intel technology, FastFrame 10GBASE-T NICs boast 47% faster Fibre Channel performance than existing structured twisted-pair copper cabling, ensuring usability in any data center.

Date: 27 Jun 2012

With enhanced iSCSI support through Lossless Ethernet (CEE) and Data Center Bridging (DCB), the cards are offered in single and dual-port configurations. FastFrame NICs are backwards compatible to support phased upgrades from GigE for existing infrastructures, and are able to run 10Gb Ethernet over existing Cat6A cabling in data-intensive settings, making them a high-performance, easy to install and cost-effective upgrade solution. FastFrame 10GBASE-T NICs are ideal for customers working with small data center installations lacking Fibre Channel experience, or those who simply prefer to use Ethernet to access existing NAS-dominated networks and who want to add network access to block-level data.

“As a leader in providing high-performance connectivity solutions for data-intensive environments, ATTO is proud to introduce these latest 10GbE offerings into our FastFrame family,” said Wayne Arvidson, vice president of marketing at ATTO Technology, Inc. “These cards incorporate the latest in Ethernet technology coupled with ease-of-installation and management, key concerns for those both restructuring existing or building new systems.”
FastFrameTM 10GBASE-T NICs offer broad support for server and workstation operating systems including Windows®, Linux, and Mac® platforms. In addition, ATTO’s established value added reseller & OEM programs, combined with exceptional technical support, make FastFrame NICs the choice for system builders seeking a lasting footprint in storage-intensive and data center markets.

“10GBASE-T technology advances are changing the face of the high-performance markets dependent on 10 gigabit ethernet,” added Arvidson. “ATTO is dedicated to providing next-generation products that our customer’s demand. The FastFrame NICs, along with our other high-performance products, are the latest examples of how ATTO leads the way in storage and network connectivity.”
